Phoenix
Overview
The Phoenix meeting is our flagship GR&P Meeting and the second most important NRA Meeting after the Imperial; it is held over the late May Bank Holiday weekend, starting with the Friday and culminating on the Monday with the International Match.
The meeting offers a plethora of matches over the 3 main days ranging from the traditional GR&P events held at Melville to Target Shotgun, Practical Pistol (part of the NRA Handgun League), McQueen (Mini and Fullbore), Air Rifle and Pistol, Muzzle Loading, Long Range Pistol and Fullbore events for Sporting & Service Rifle (pre and post 1955) as well as Fullbore any rifle and F-Class and Black Powder Rifle.
Very few events can involve so many different forms of shooting and the Phoenix is packed full of shooting fun.
Running in parallel with the Meeting is the Arms Fair which is a great opportunity to stock up on equipment or purchase a new gun from one of the NRA exhibitors.
The spirit of the meeting is unique and it is not unusual to see competitors parading around camp in glorious costumes matching the ear of the firearms they are shooting.
