Civilian Service Rifle Skills Development Course
Saturday 2nd February 2019
This one day Civilian Service Rifle Skills Development Course will provide you with the fundamental skills for taking part in CSR events and competitions.
What’s involved?
The course’s main focuses are:
- Types of firearms
- Civilian Service Rifle Classes
- Positional Shooting Techniques (Standing, Kneeling, Sitting)
- Zeroing
- Grouping
- Events & Competitions (including the Winter League & Imperial Meeting)
- Clubs
The course involves both classroom and practical range work at 100 and 200 yards, with expert coaching from national and international level shooters.
Who can take part?
The course is open to all NRA members including those who do not currently hold an FAC or possess the appropriate firearm.
Non-NRA members can attend providing they have successfully completed the required probationary course, possess an appropriate firearm and pay the additional course fee.
This course can provide a Shooter Certification Card (SCC) assessment if required – therefore if you do not have a ‘Telescope Sighted Rifle” SCC you can enter onto this course.

This one day Target Shotgun Skills Course will provide you with the fundamental skills for taking part in TS events and competitions.

The course will focus on:
- Target Shotgun Classes
- Types of firearms
- Positional techniques and positional changes: Standing, Kneeling, Sitting and Prone
- Weak shoulder shooting
- Buckshot patterning
- Slug zeroing
- Application of fire
- Speed shooting
- Man-v-man competition and team falling plates (Bargrave Deane)
- Stoppage drills
- Events & Competitions: Gallery Rifle Action Weekends, Target Shotgun League and Phoenix
- Clubs
The course involves both classroom and practical range work, with expert coaching from national and international level shooters.
Ammunition:
For the course you will need 100 approximately rounds of birdshot (number 4, 5, 6, 7 or 8). You can supply your own or purchase upon entering for the course.
In addition, there may be the opportunity to fire slug ammunition (fibre wad only). Only those that have this type of ammunition on their FAC are able to purchase and fire this ammunition. Slug ammunition is not available to purchase upon entry, you will need to supply approximately 25 rounds if you wish to use it.

Gallery Rifle Introduction Course

This one day Gallery Rifle Introduction Course will provide the fundamental skills for taking part in GR events and competitions, and will include individual coaching of positional shooting techniques.
Course Highlights:
The course will focus on:
- Gallery Rifle Classes
- Types of firearms
- Shooting equipment
- Principles of Marksmanship
- Positional Techniques: Standing, Kneeling, Sitting
- Zeroing
- Grouping practice
- 25x application of fire and match practice
- Competitive circuit: Gallery Rifle Action Weekends and Phoenix
- Clubs
The course involves both classroom and practical range work, with expert coaching from national and international level shooters.
Who can take part?
The course is open to all NRA members including those who do not currently hold an FAC or possess the appropriate firearm.
Non-NRA members can attend providing they have successfully completed the required probationary course, possess an appropriate firearm and pay the additional course fee.
This course can offer a Shooter Certification Card (SCC) assessment – therefore if you do not have ‘Gallery Rifle / Carbine” listed SCC you would be able to enter this course.
Attendees must be over 14 years of age on the first day of the course.
