NRA Black Powder Certification Course

The Black Powder (BP) Course will provide training in the safe and competent use of Black Powder/Muzzle Loading Firearms (ie Percussion Pistols, Black Powder Revolvers, Musket and Muzzle Loading Rifles). The course is open to all NRA members and non-members (if you are not a full NRA member you will not be issued a Shooter Certification Card and will receive a certificate of completion for the course) including those who do not currently hold an FAC, possess the appropriate firearm or hold the relevant disciplines on their Shooter Certification Card (SCC).
The course will involve both classroom and practical range work with expert coaching from national and international level shooters. Attendees will be assessed over the course of the day to add Muzzle Loading Pistol & Rifle to their NRA Shooter Certification Card, allowing them to hire Black Powder kits from the NRA Armoury using black powder substitutes.

Gallery Rifle & Pistol Introduction Course
Gallery Rifle Skills Development Course
Saturday 12th October 2019
This one day Gallery Rifle Skills Development Course aims to provide you with skills and knowledge specifically tailored for competing in Timed & Precision 2 and 1500 matches.
Course Highlights:
The course will focus on:
- Principles of Marksmanship
- Positional Techniques: Standing, Kneeling, Sitting
- Grouping practice
- Specific match practice for T&P1, M-T and 1020 matches
- Competitive circuit: Gallery Rifle Action Weekends and Phoenix
- Clubs
The course involves both classroom and practical range work, with expert coaching from national and international level shooters.
Who can take part?
The course is open to all NRA members including those who do not currently hold an FAC or possess the appropriate firearm.
Non-NRA members can attend providing they have successfully completed the required probationary course, possess an appropriate firearm and pay the additional course fee.
This course can offer a Shooter Certification Card (SCC) assessment – therefore if you do not have ‘Gallery Rifle / Carbine” listed SCC you would be able to enter this course.
Attendees must be over 14 years of age on the first day of the course.

This one day Target Rifle Introduction Course will provide those who have little or no experience of shooting TR with the fundamental skills to enable them to shoot competently with others at their clubs.
Course Highlights:
The course will focus on:
- Shooting equipment
- Zeroing
- Adjusting the sights
- Using score sheets
- Shooting position and technique
- Principles of Marksmanship
- Clubs
The course involves both classroom and practical range work, with expert coaching from national and international level shooters.
Who can take part?
The course is open to all NRA members including those who do not currently hold an FAC or possess the appropriate firearm.
