Small Rifle Heavy Bullet (SRHB) Shooting Days
SRHB Event Outline
The first Short-Range, Heavy Bullet (SRHB) shoot for 2020 will be held on Saturday, 14 March 2020.
These shoots are designed to provide an opportunity to use classic big-game rifles at Bisley with a muzzle energy greater than 7000J. The SRHB category covers cartridges with a minimum bullet weight of 400 grains, a maximum muzzle velocity of 800 m/s (2,625fps) and a maximum muzzle energy of 14,000J (10325ftbs).
However, we also welcome medium-bore cartridges such as the .416, .450, and .470, but there is a minimum calibre requirement of .375. Metric equivalents are, of course, also welcome!
Shooting takes place on Butt Zero. In the morning we will shoot static targets at 80 yards from two standing benches. In the afternoon, there will be a snap-shooting competition at 25 yards in addition to the static targets. We will have an electronic static target in the afternoon allowing you to download your groups direct to your phone. There will also be an opportunity to chronograph ammunition.
Please note that the snap-shooting competition requires a rifle with a minimum calibre of .40″.
Lunch will be available at the Surrey Rifle Association.
The cost of the day is £65 plus lunch. Please contact the Range Office on 01483 797777 ext 152 to arrange payment of the range fee.
Please email David Lacey (email@davidlacey.com) if you would like to participate.
