GB Target Shotgun – 2020 Team Selection

Dear shooter,

Some of you will know that we have run an International Target Shotgun competition over the last couple of years at the Phoenix Meeting; GB against the Republic of Ireland and Germany.  Last year this event became The Limax Cup, and we hope that it will continue as a yearly event.

This year, we might have a team from South Africa competing, and our own team will have GB status.

For my sins, I’ve been elected Team Captain, and together with John Chambers, and James Harris, I’m trying to put together a strong team. We have won this event for the last two years.

In the recent past you may have shot in Target Shotgun competitions, and some of you will have already been in our team over the last couple of years. My difficult task then is to select candidates for this year’s team.  Needless to say, if you do not plan to compete at the Phoenix in May, this will not apply to you.  For those that are not aware of the events that make up The Limax Cup, team members will need to shoot T&P1, Multi Target, The Embassy Cup, and the long range event at 100yds. There is a manual, and semi-auto category, and we need shooters in both categories. All shooters perform better in some events that others, but all round ability is important.

If you wish to be considered for the team, please notify me by email. There are two main shotgun events at Bisley prior to the Phoenix, The Target Shotgun Festival later this week, and the Spring Action Weekend meeting on the 28th and 29th March. I’d like to see how people shoot at these events, but any good results from other venues will also be considered. When we have the nucleus of a team, we also hope to arrange some extra practice for shooters, especially for the long range event.

I think that’s enough for the time being, but if you are able, and interested, please let me know. I’ll then try to keep you updated on developments.

Best wishes

Rob Sanders
