We are very sorry to report the death of David Brechin. Although advancing age curtailed more recent visits to Bisley, David shot regularly for Scotland over the years.

He was in the Scotland Team for the National Match 12 times as a shooter between 1966 and 1993, 11 times as a wind coach and twice as Team Captain. For the Mackinnon Match between 1972 and 1993 he was a shooter 6 times, wind coach twice and Captain twice. He was also a regular for Scotland in the Lawrence Match at the Scottish Championships.

He also represented Great Britain on 2 touring teams to Canada, in 1968 and 1973, which means he toured once with a .303 and once with a .308. He also shot for GB in the Kolapore match in 1973.

Our thoughts and prayers are with his family and many friends at this time.

David Brechin’s funeral will be at Morton Hall Crematorium, Howden Hall Road, Edinburgh EH16 6TX at 13.00hrs on Thursday 30th May. There will be a livestream of the service for those who cannot attend in person which can be found here: https://watch.obitus.com
