For the first time, this season’s CSR Winter League placings have been classified, with classifications allocated according to paragraph B11 of the CSR Handbook, (available to download
here)

Thanks to everyone who entered, making it another successful year for the discipline. Grateful thanks also to our generous sponsors Vortex, and for their continued and valued support to the NRA and Civilian Service Rifle.

Vortex Sponsored Awards:

Class Specific: This year Vortex are generously supporting the encouragement of up and coming shooters with prizes for the highest scoring competitor
in the lowest class in each of the four rifle types;

  • Historic Enfield ‘A’ Class – Vortex Binoculars – Martin Rigby
  • Any Iron ‘A’ Class – Vortex Binoculars – Sam Meredith
  • Practical ‘B’ Class – Vortex Scope – Mark Eustance
  • Service Optic ‘B’ Class – Vortex Scope – Matt Lee

Alongside the above four awards are Classless and Classified NRA awards:

Classless League:

The highest scores overall in each rifle type, regardless of class, will be awarded with a piece of etched glassware, as per the

    • 1st Place – Adrian Cattell (X)
    • 2nd Place – Sam Meredith (A)
  • Practical Optic

    • 3rd Place – Oliver Dunn (X)
  • Service Optic
    • 1st Place – Roy Wade (X)
    • 2nd Place – Peter Cottrell (X)

Classified League:

NRA Medals are awarded in each event and to each class, subject to Prize List ‘D’ of the NRA handbook;

    • 2+ Entries: Gold Medal
    • 6+ Entries: Gold and Silver Medal
    • 11+ Entries: Gold, Silver and Bronze Medal

The above awards will be given out at the CSR BBQ and Prize Giving on Saturday 1st July at the Army Target Shooting Club.

BBQ tickets are pre-order only, book yours  now via this page. The bar will be open from 5.30pm, BBQ will be served from 6.30pm, with prizegiving starting at 7pm

Don’t forget, entries for the CSR Imperial Meeting, Falling Plates, Methuen and E-League are all open now at online.nra.org.uk!

John Crathorne

John Crathorne (C3 1942-47) died in February this year, aged 96.  Born in Wiltshire, he was happily educated at Marlborough College, benefitting particularly from encouraging introduction to both History and Classical music that stayed with him throughout his life. He sang with the Choral Society and enjoyed all sports in particular Hockey, Cricket and Rugby
