A closely fought contest this morning where the lead changed hands several times during the competition.

Jim Bailey, the leader after stage II put in a fine 75 at 900x to increase his lead to a point over Haasbroek who scored 74 with David Luckman moving up to third but three points behind Bailey.

As expected everything came down to the final shoot at 1000x. By half way through the shoot, Haasbroek who had put his first 8 shots into the bull had drawn level with Bailey, shooting on the next door target who had an inner for his 2nd to count. Further down the range David Luckman was steadily accumulating bulls to remain firmly in the medal positions. At this point, Haasbroek lost track of the wind scoring 4,4,3 and dropping to third, level on points with David Luckman but 7v behind leaving Bailey still in the lead by two points.

David finished with a very fine 73 in difficult twitchy winds to ensure at least the Silver medal whilst Bailey still 2 points ahead had five shots to go. Shots 11, 12 and 13 were bulls. Two shots to go and Bailey still with his two point lead looked to have the Gold Medal. His 14th shot however was a 3 o/c outer, not only had the lead gone but so had the Gold and the Silver. He put his last shot in the bull to claim third and the Bronze Medal, two points ahead of Parag Patel in 4th
