I am honoured to have been appointed by the National Rifle Association to captain the Great Britain Veterans Team to Australia in 2026. I am also delighted that Martin Townsend has agreed to be my vice-captain on this touring team.

The team will compete in the National Rifle Association of Australia’s annual championships at Belmont ranges in Brisbane, to be held in October 2026. Our team will comprise 17 members and we will compete in the NRAA Southern Cross Veterans International Team Match (an Australia Match course of fire), the John Fitzgerald Trophy match, and as individual competitors in the Australian King’s Prize and the NRAA Grand Aggregate / Royal Kaltenberg Cup.

I would like to invite shooters who will be 60 or over by October 2026 to apply for this team. Team selection will take place after the 2025 Bisley Imperial Meeting, and we are planning to hold our first training weekend this Autumn with 2 further weekends in 2026 before we travel.

If you are interested in applying for the team, please complete the short form on this link: https://forms.gle/whM7gfTyq1ZYtDd79
