About
The CCF Schools Meeting comprises of a range of shooting opportunities for cadets over a 4 or 5 day period, with the main Target Rifle competition culminating in the Ashburton a Thursday in the middle of July:
Monday: Practice Day: Cadet Monday 300, 500 and 600 yards
Tuesday: Wellington, Iveagh, Victoria Tankard
Wednesday: Wellington, Iveagh, Victoria Tankard
Thursday: Ashburton, Cadet Pairs, Cadet Fours, Reserve, Spencer Mellish, Schools Veterans
In addition to the CTR Programme, students can take part in following events:
🚩Cadet 1K: 1+5 at 1100x using NRA firearms
🥏Cadet Clays: Sporting Trap Competition: Open to students who are competent with a shotgun and clay shooting. Students without this level of experience are not permitted to enter, and are requested to enter the ‘Taster Session’ below
A sport trap competition is carried out over five stands where shooters engage targets that are identified by a letter which is shot in a prescribed sequence on each stand. Once each shooter has completed their stand, they then move to the right and then engage the same targets from a different direction and in a different sequence

A mixture of NRA and CCRS awards are presented to winning cadets at the CCF Schools Prizegiving, which follows the completion of the Ashburton
