Invitation for Applications to the GB Rifle Team to Canada 2023

Team invitation

I have once again been honoured with the Captaincy of the Great Britain Rifle Team to Canada in Summer next year. As I’m sure you are all aware, last year’s tour was cancelled due to the ravages of Covid 19 on our shooting fraternity.

Both Gary Alexander and David Rose have kindly agreed to remain as my Vice Captain and Adjutant respectively. The team will probably fly out to Canada a week after the end of our Imperial Meeting and return on the weekend of the August bank Holiday.

We plan to visit and shoot in Quebec before travelling to Ottawa to compete in the DCRA meeting.

Regrettably, where a GBRT tour to Canada has historically cost between £3000 and £3500 after sponsorship and OTF funding, prices have increased considerably. This year’s team are estimating the tour will cost about £1000 more.

Our intention is to select a squad in the near future, with final team selection in August once the GBRT visiting South Africa in Spring 2023 has been announced. Expressions of interest from any on the present Palma Squad are welcomed – I appreciate that it is possible to “have a foot in both camps”!

Please send applications with brief shooting CV’s to me by 15th May 2022.

Andrew Lothian

GBRT Canada 2023 Captain.
