This one day Target Shotgun Skills Course will provide you with the fundamental skills for taking part in TS events and competitions.
Course Highlights:
The course will focus on:
- Target Shotgun Classes
- Types of firearms
- Positional techniques and positional changes: Standing, Kneeling, Sitting and Prone
- Weak shoulder shooting
- Buckshot patterning
- Slug zeroing
- Application of fire
- Speed shooting
- Man-v-man competition and team falling plates (Bargrave Deane)
- Stoppage drills
- Events & Competitions: Gallery Rifle Action Weekends, Target Shotgun League and Phoenix
- Clubs
The course involves both classroom and practical range work, with expert coaching from national and international level shooters.
Who can take part?
The course is open to all NRA members including those who do not currently hold an FAC or possess the appropriate firearm.
Non-NRA members can attend providing they have successfully completed the required probationary course, possess an appropriate firearm and pay the additional course fee.
This course can provide a Shooter Certification Card (SCC) assessment if required – therefore if you do not have ‘Target Shotgun” listed on your SCC you can enter onto this course.
Attendees must be over 14 years of age on the first day of the course.

Inter Counties 2023
Inter Counties Meeting 2023
Saturday 10th – Sunday 11th June
The Inter Counties Meeting includes both an individual competition (R Jarvis) and two team competitions one at Short Range and one at Long Range
R Jarvis: Saturday 10th June (AM): 2+7 to count at 300x, 500x & 600x. Open all to members of the County Team and any competitor who is a full member of the NRA or a member of an affiliated county taking part in the Meeting
The Lt Col H Jones VC Memorial Trophy: Saturday 10th June (PM): Team competition, 1+10 at 300x, 500x and 600x
The NRA Inter-Counties Long Range Team Match: Sunday 11th June (AM): Team competition, 2+15 at 900x and 1000x
Champion of Champions: One individual per County, nominated immediately on completion of the Long Range Match. 2 convertible sighting shots and 15 to count at 1000x

Coming Soon – Precision Rifle Shooting 🎉
Precision Rifle Shooting (PRS) is a popular and growing shooting style which involves hitting a sequence of metal targets at varying distances, shooting from multiple supported and unsupported positions. Targets are typically sub 3.0 MOA and positioned anything 250-900 yds, depending on the location and Range Regulations.
The NRA hosted two trial events earlier this year and will be staging training and competitions later this year and early in 2024:

Bisley Rifle Ranges Open on Monday 11 July 2022
Following discussions with MoD Pirbright and the fire service I can confirm that all Bisley rifle ranges will re-open on Monday 11 July.
The ranges largely escaped fire damage; replacements for the cremated Stickledown target number boards have already been delivered and will be installed by Sunday.
Please Note:-
- The Schools Meeting will start as planned on Monday 11 July;
- Non-Imperial Match rifle competitions are being scheduled Monday 11 to Wednesday 13 July; further details will be emailed to MR competitors; and
- Non-Imperial F class competitions are being considered Monday 11 to Wednesday 13 July; further details will be emailed to F class competitors.
- Sporting Rifle events due to take place on Saturday 9 and Sunday 10 July have been cancelled. The remaining Sporting Rifle Programme will continue from Thursday 14 July
All other Imperial Meeting competitions will run as scheduled.
Please note that although much of the range danger area is burnt out the risk of fire stoppages remains.

New NSC Website launched
The National Shooting Centre at Bisley has a brand spanking new website!
The NSC is the NRA’s trading arm that operates our rifle and shotgun ranges and other Bisley facilities. The NRA delivers charitable activities including competitions and training.
Our world famous range complex offers the widest range of target shooting in the UK, including rifle shooting at targets from 25 to 1,200 yards, and clay target shotgun shooting including sporting clays and Olympic disciplines.
The new website is designed to make visits to the National Shooting Centre easier and more enjoyable, with information on ranges, accommodation, clubs, catering and retail outlets.
