Today we welcomed new and returning competitors to the NRA/ARA Military Adaptive Championships on Melville Range.
Faced with three different shooting challenges: Advancing Target, Snaps & Rapid and Mini McQueen, a competitive spirit was still viable amongst all the smiles and friendly chatter on the range.
Lunch for competitors and support staff was kindly sponsored by Qioptiq and Heckler & Koch, and was thoroughly enjoyed by all!

Team invitation
GREAT BRITAIN RIFLE TEAM TO CANADA 2025
Were you thrilled and inspired by the astonishing Palma Match in South Africa recently?
Do you have what it takes to be a member of the next Great Britain Rifle Team to tour overseas?
Applications are invited from NRA members to become a member of the GBRT to Canada in 2025.
We anticipate taking part in a provincial meeting in early August before moving on to Ottawa to shoot in the DCRA championships at Connaught. The tour will be around two and a half weeks in length.
Please apply to Paul Gray (captain), Chris Watson (vice captain) or Liam Cheek (adjutant) for an application form.
The closing date for applications is King’s final day 2024 (27th July) and the team will be selected in early August.
Would all applicants please note that the first team get together / training weekend will be held on September 14/15 this year.

PRS Competition open for entries
Precision Rifle Shooting Competition: Sunday 3rd March
Targets will typically be 10-30cm in diameter, positioned at distances of 250-900m from the firing point. In addition to the variety of targets, there will be different ‘props’ used in each layout on the firing point, which aim to offer diversity and challenge to each shooter.
This will be a 10 stage match, with 5 layouts in both the morning and afternoon session.

150th Imperial Commemorative Limited Edition Print
In celebration of the 150th Imperial Meeting and to commemorate this historic event the NRA has commissioned Limited Edition Prints of the historic original painting of HM King George V and the 1911 King’s Prize Winner at Bisley by Wallace Hester. Painted in 1911, it was then donated to the NRA in 1913 by Walter Winans and Wallace Hester. It is on proud display in NRA Reception.
This is a Limited Edition print of just 150 copies printed on cotton watercolour paper. The key to main patronages on the painting is included at the rear of the print.
These prints are available:
Mounted (mounted size 22 inches x 16 inches) – £59.95
A limited number are available framed in a black frame as pictured – £129.00

Blank Greetings Cards with envelope (A5 size) are also available for sale for £3.00 or with a mount for £5.00.

COVID-19
Imperial Competitions – COVID Update
The Government has announced new restrictions limiting social gatherings to six people; this does not include outdoor organised sports.
The autumn Imperial meetings are in full swing at Bisley, and we have safely delivered competitions to Match Rifle, Gallery Rifle & Pistol and CSR shooters. Today marks the start of the F Class meeting, and later this week we will be welcoming Target Rifle competitors to the ranges.
Strict COVID measures have been in place since Bisley ranges opened in May; these are subject to continuous review. I have been pleased with the diligent and thoughtful manner that shooters have shown at Bisley; they recognise we are all responsible for maintaining social distances and good hygiene.
We will review our procedures and policies to ensure they comply with the latest Government guidance; any changes will be published on the news section of the NRA website.
