The government has introduced new waste disposal regulations, which came into effect on 31 March 2025. These regulations require businesses to separate waste into four categories: general waste, dry recycling, food waste, and glass.

Our contractor, Chambers, has informed us that these new regulations will impact the National Shooting Centre.

Currently, there are 113 mixed waste bins across Bisley Camp, which collect all waste and recycling. These are then sorted at Chambers’ depot. These bins will be phased out and replaced with separate bins for general waste, recycling, food waste, and glass.

This change will have a logistical impact, and we are working to balance convenience for all users with cost, operational considerations, and aesthetics. Our team is actively planning the placement of the new bins and coordinating with Chambers and relevant departments to find the best solution.

Given the size of our site, we expect the transition to be gradual. Please be assured that we will closely monitor progress to ensure everything runs as smoothly as possible. We will provide an update when the changeover to the new system is set to be implemented.
