Targets on MoD ranges

The type, size, position and design of targets are principal considerations in the geometry and safety of fixed ranges.

RCO’s and Club officials are reminded that only approved targets may be used on MoD ranges.  Typically, this will include standard Figure targets fixed to a target screen or Small Arms Range Targetry System (SARTS) systems.  Appropriate screen targets used for NRA competitions may also be used.

Clubs are encouraged to confirm target requirements during the range recce and seek advice if needed from MoD Range Safety Staff (Training Safety Officer).
