VE Day 75 Commemorations: 8 May 2020
National Rifle Association
All will be aware that British and other Allied combat operations against Nazism and Fascism in Europe ended officially on 8 May 1945 โ and that day is known as Victory in Europe Day (VE Day); it was the beginning of the end of the 2nd World War as operations in the Far East continued until 15 Aug 45.ย Despite the current global situation the nation will come together on Friday 8 May 20 to commemorate VE Day.
Tomorrow we will be able to remember the great determination and stoicism of that exceptional 2nd World War generation โ qualities which are still very evident today of course as shown so fantastically by Captain (now honorary Colonel) Tom Moore.ย The National Rifle Association is extremely proud of its traditional practical relationship with the countryโs Armed Forces and the contribution that the Association makes to the efficiency of those Forces.
Let us all observe the national 2 minutes of silence at 1100 hrs tomorrow.
