It is with very great regret that we report the passing of Alain Marion of Canada, one of the greats in the world of TR.

Alain won HM The Late Queen’s Prize three times, in 1980, 1983 and 1996. He was second in 1972 and third in 1987 and 1990. He qualified for sixteen Queen’s Prize Finals, an overseas record. He also won the Bisley Grand Aggregate in 1990 and was second in 1973 and 1980. He was in the Top 50 of the Grand Aggregate sixteen times, also an overseas record.

At home, he was the Canadian Fullbore Rifle Champion a record 12 times, was second 6 times and third 3 times. He won the Canadian Grand Aggregate a record 10 times, coming second 3 times and third 6 times. He won the Governor General’s Prize 5 times, placing second 6 times and third twice.

In the Commonwealth Games Fullbore Competition, he won one Gold and two Silver Medals.

In recognition of his shooting accomplishments, Alain was appointed a member of the Order of Canada.

Our thoughts are with his family and all our friends at the DCRA.
