We regret to announce the death on Friday 31 January of Chris Bunch, one of the Museum of the NRA’s long serving volunteers and honourary life member of the NRA, who had contributed massively over many years to recording the NRA’s collection of historical documents and early photographs and pictures.

He was also the author of the book The NRA, Its Tramways and the London and South Western Railway – Targets and Tramways.  This traced and recorded the links between the NRA and the London and South Western railway that served both Wimblebon and Bisley from the 1860s to 1952, and the on-range tramway with its engine “Wharncliffe”.

We extend our condolences to Chris’s wife Rosemary and his daughter Sarah – a past member of the team at the NRA and a Director of the NSC.

Although Chris was not himself a shooter his father was, and won the Grand Aggregate in 1938.  Chris’s soft approach, companionship and wealth of knowledge will be sorely missed by the Museum team.

A full obituary will be published in a future edition of the NRA Journal.
