World-renowned rifle manufacturer, Accuracy International is looking to recruit an experienced Mechanical Development Engineer to work within their established and highly-skilled engineering team based in Portsmouth.

This exciting role focuses on the coordination of prototype manufacture and assembly alongside the creation of detailed test procedures, conducting and/or monitoring product testing in indoor and outdoor environments and the delivery of comprehensive test reports.

Suitable candidates will be qualified in a mechanical engineering discipline, preferably to degree level and be skilled in data acquisition and analysis. Practical experience in the use of mechanical test equipment and instrumentation, such as data loggers, accelerometers and pressure transducers is essential as the role will involve the design, commissioning and operation of test rigs as well as liaison with external test houses and test equipment suppliers.

This full time position would ideally suit an individual knowledgeable in the safe use of firearms and ammunition.  Experience in the defence industry and familiarity with international defence standards would be highly advantageous.  An understanding of harsh environment and rough handling test procedures would also be beneficial.

As you would expect for a role of this nature, excellent written and verbal communication skills are vital and a level of business travel to off-site test facilities will be necessary.
