GB Team to Canada 2026 – Team Invitation Update

I am very pleased with the Applicant response to the earlier initial announcement about the GB Rifle Team to Canada in 2026. However, the application window remains open and the Team will not be finalised until after the 2025 Imperial and after the GB Australia Team has been selected. Aspiring Australia Team applicants are welcome to apply for the Canada Team, but we ask that you highlight your double application so that we are aware of the situation.

We have now finalised the programme and the initial training phase for our Tour, which I hope you will find challenging and interesting.

First, we will go to Camp Perry in the USA to take part in the 2026 National Mid-Range & Long Range Matches, which culminate in an individual Palma style match. There is also the possibility that a full international match against the US Team may be added if an extra day’s range space can be secured.

Then, after a few days R&R, we will take part in the Ontario Provincial Championships, which then flows through into the DCRA Canadian Championships where we will also contest two internationals, the Canada Match and the Commonwealth Match. In addition, the Americans have confirmed that an America Match is scheduled for 2026 at the conclusion of the DCRA Meeting. It has not yet been decided whether the two Championships will be held at Borden or Connaught and is dependent on whether the ranges at Connaught are available.

The Tour is expected to be a little over 3 weeks and will require 17-18 days of annual leave.

We have confirmed the dates for the first two training events: there will be a Squad Development Weekend on 3-4 May 2025 and the first formal Team training weekend on 20-21 September 2025.

If you are interested in joining the Squad, please contact applications@gbcanada26.org.uk
