I have been honoured by the Council of the National Rifle Association with the captaincy of the Great Britain Rifle Team to compete in the World Long Range Championships and Palma Match to be held at Bisley in July 2028. I am delighted Peter Bromley has agreed to be my Vice-Captain and James Watson the Adjutant.

We will assemble an initial training squad of approximately 60 people in the autumn of 2025 from which the final team will be selected after the Imperial Meeting in 2027. We plan to build on the very strong foundations laid by the 2024 Palma team and are under no illusions to the scale of the challenge that lies ahead.

I invite applications to join the squad from both shooters & coaches. In particular I encourage those new to “Palma” shooting who have the dedication and commitment to succeed at the highest level to apply. In the first instance please express your interest to me via email using the address below. You will then be asked to complete a questionnaire which must be returned by the closing date for applications of 31st July 2025.
