NRA 100 Competition scores for 2017

To view and download the NRA 100 Scores for 2017 – Click here

Congratulations to Roger Ellis of Wandsworth RC on Winning Target Rife Class and Shane Hancock of Mars Minerva winning Service Rifle Class of the 2017 NRA 100 competition.  Commiserations to those taking part who did not win. I hope to see more of you participating during 2018 in what is a fun and unique competition.

The NRA 100 is a 3-Position shoot over 200 or 300yds shooting 4 non-convertible sighters and 10 scoring shots to count in the order: Prone, Standing then Kneeling or Sitting.  Because of range limitations on availability of 200yds targets any scores from 200 or 300 shot to the competition rules and on standard NRA face targets can be entered and will be scored side by side. This year’s winners shot at 300yds.

NRA 100 shoots and entries  can be arranged by any NRA affiliated club and shot on any suitable range during 2018. The scores + a small prize fund & badge fee of £2 sent to myself to award the winner and prize badges to p.northam@virgin.net.  NRA 100 shoots will be organised by myself and advertised so any NRA or Guest entrants can attend to shoot them side by side.

Congratulations to the 2017 winners, wishing you all good shooting for 2018.

CSR Imperial Meeting

Civilian Service Rifle Imperial Meeting 2019

Wednesday 3rd – Sunday 7th July

** Entries open approximately 6 weeks prior to the start of the competition**

The pinnacle of the Civilian Service Rifle year are the Imperial matches. During the CSR Imperial Meeting matches take place from 25 yards to 600 yards testing every aspect of a competitors’ skill. They conclude with Crowning the Champion shot in each CSR class (Historic, Iron, Service Optic & Practical Optic).

Awards are given for each match, the Short Range and Long Range Aggregates and to the overall Champions.

The majority of the competition takes place on Century Range although a couple of the matches take place on nearby MoD Ranges – Pirbright.

For Courses of Fire please refer to the CSR Handbook available to download here.

NRA CSR Falling Plates – Team Match

Teams of 4 firers shoot against each other in a ‘knockout event’ to see who can shoot down 10 steel plates in the quickest time.

Teams start in the prone position at 300 yards firing point and on the ‘Go’ signal sprint to the 200 yards firing point adopt the prone position, make ready and open fire at their plates. The team knocking all of their plates down in the quickest time (typically 23-25 seconds) goes through to the next round.

Historic Rifles have their own class and whist the plates are the same the only have to run 25 yards before starting to knock them down. The Falling Plates event takes place on a Saturday evening before Methuen Match and has often attracted more than 40 separate teams.

CSR Methuen – Team Match

Following the individual Imperial CSR matches the Methuen is a Team match shot in two classes; Modern and Historic.

Teams of six firers and a non-shooting captain take part in the Short Range Match for the Mauser and Mons Trophies, additional individual awards, the Kukri and Bayonet Trophies, are also presented for the highest score in each class. Up to twenty teams can take part and clubs from all over the United Kingdom and from Europe enter this closely fought match and although team scores are monitored throughout the match the winners are not know until the last shot is fired.
