It’s been a fantastic first week stepping into the role of Secretary General and I’m truly honoured to be joining such a passionate and dedicated group of people.

Starting last week has also allowed for a smooth handover with Andrew Mercer. I’d like to sincerely thank him for sharing his knowledge and insights and for his generous support during the transition. His guidance has been invaluable in helping me get up to speed and develop a deeper understanding of the Association.

Over the past few days, I’ve had the pleasure of meeting many members of NRA staff around camp and getting a real sense of the energy and commitment that drives our work. I even had the chance to take part in some rifle practice at Chobham Ridge, a great way to experience first-hand some of our excellent range facilities that we have at Bisley Camp.

One particular highlight for me was to be able to see some of the first events of the Imperial Meeting, including the Imperial Adaptive Championship and Service Rifle Competitions. It was an honour to see such phenomenal displays of resilience and marksmanship. I’m very much looking forward to the upcoming Imperial Meetings taking place in July, a perfect opportunity to experience the spirit and expertise at the heart of this organisation.
