With great sadness we have to tell you that Richard (‘Dick’) Britton (President of the Hereford and Worcester Rifle Association) passed away on Saturday 21st October after five years in a coma.

Richard had a most successful shooting career. As well as many appearances in the Queens 100 and winning eight Grand crosses, he shot in the GB Kolapore team in 1970 and the National for England on seven occasions from 1957 to 1971.

He was in a touring GB team nine times, going first in 1958 and being Captain of the team to Canada in 1994.

He captained a GB Veterans team to South Africa in 1999. He was a professional wildlife artist and he also painted such Bisley scenes as ‘Last Detail Stickledown’ which adorn the walls of many shooters’ homes and their Clubhouses.

We send our condolences to Paula and the family.
