We are working up plans to develop two new serviced caravan sites at Bisley on Site 5 and Back of Canada House; please see draft plans attached.

We are keen to receive feedback about the layout, varying sizes of pitches etc. before finalising plans for tender and costings. We have endeavoured to maintain the number of caravans on the two sites, whilst providing roads, car parking, bin stores and services.

Once costs are established we can then confirm terms of the leases; they are likely to be similar to those offered on Waldegrave site (leases of up to 20 years for modern caravans paying 5 years’ rent in advance). Previous developments have proved very popular, with leases offering security of tenure, encouraging investment in modern caravans and greater spring and autumn occupancy.

Owners of caravans on the development sites will be given first refusal for the new pitches before they are offered to the wider membership. Those who choose to relocate with caravans of an acceptable quality will be offered pitches on alternative sites. We understand the prospect of moving caravans is unsettling, but will use our best endeavours to make any move as efficient and painless as possible.

Trustees are keeping the developments under regular and careful review; I expect their decision whether to proceed to be made in December. If confirmed, works on site are expected to commence early April 2023.

I will be grateful for feedback on the attached plans by Monday 10th October to Shelly Fletcher (shelly.fletcher@nra.org.uk).

Next year Trustees will be developing a Bisley Estate Development plan. We have received a number of interesting suggestions for additional accommodation options on Camp and look forward to receiving further details from members as part of the consultation for this project.
